Abstract

With use of high-speed rotary instruments and a recently introduced bur, a variation of the traditional inlay cavity preparation can be achieved. The region to be restored is cut so that the pulpal floor is rounded and the gingival and axial walls of the tooth are hollow-ground. The technique is evaluated on the basis of traditional principles of cavity preparation.
