Abstract
Now a day all over the globe building of civil infrastructure has gained unbelievable priority towards the globalization. Many major projects such as highways, railways, high rise buildings, seaports, airports etc are the symbolic representation to say a particular country developed or not. All these projects are supposed to be built on the earth or soil mass. Depending upon the local geological conditions and prevailing environment variety soils can be seen all over the world. At the same time we also encounter with the difficult soils, which pose expansion/shrinkage, high compressibility and collapse when loaded. There is a tremendous need to develop suitable foundation technique to overcome the difficulties associated with this type of soils. Hence suitable techniques have to be adopted for mitigating these problems posed by B.C soils. In the present investigation on Soil strength and CBR are important parameters can be chosen and consideration in the pavement design. CBR of a particular soil can be estimated reasonably by conducting the CBR tests in laboratory. The CBR test results obtained on clayey samples treated with various admixtures like Flyash, Stone dust and lime are presented and discussed.
