Abstract

ABSTRACT Our present knowledge of the thyroid gland has been derived chiefly from the investigations of workers on the human gland. A comparatively small amount of work has been done on the thyroids of the lower animals, and this has been chiefly of an experimental nature, very little attention having been paid to the histology.
