Abstract

The paper examines the processes that occur during thermal treatment (sintering) of heterophase nanocrystalline ZrO 2 -Y 2 O 3 -CeO 2 -Al 2 O 3 powders. It is shown that the disperse system is selforganized in various evolutionary ways. The common behaviors of ZrO 2 -Y 2 O 3 -CeO 2 -Al 2 O 3 nanocrystalline powders are determined. The results offer possibilities for selecting initial nanocrystalline powders to develop fine-grained high-performance ceramics.
