Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to describe variations of imperative sentences used by teachers in learning-teaching interactions. Applying a descriptive qualitative design, the study involved Bahasa Indonesia teachers in SMP 13 Malang. By nonparticipant observations, data were recorded, selected, identified and classified for a final conclusion. The result revealed that there were many variations of imperative sentences used by the teachers in their learning-teaching interactions. The calssification of variations could be based on linguistic indicators, delivery strategies, and content of massages
