Abstract

The thermally induced spin transition behaviour of selected iron(II) coordination compounds with substituted tetrazole ligands has been monitored using variable temperature FT-IR spectroscopy. The reliability of these results is discussed and compared with independent analytical techniques such as SQUID measurements and 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy proofing variable temperature IR spectroscopy to be a valuable tool in the determination of the spin transition temperature T 1/2.
