Abstract

Capacity analysis of dynamically variable sub-carrier bandwidth to overcome inter-carrier interference in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) framework is presented. It is found that this type of adaptive frequency division multiplexing scheme is to be preferred over systems based on standard OFDM with fixed sub-carrier bandwidth when users with various received signal strengths and different Doppler (mobility) conditions have to be served simultaneously by a base station.
