Abstract
Considering that the multi-linear variable separation approach has beenproved to be very useful to solve many (2+1)-dimensional integrablesystems, we obtain the variable separation solutions of the Burgersequation with arbitrary number of variable separated functions. TheY-shaped soliton fusion phenomenon is revealed.
