Abstract
A dilute Mg-Mn-Ca-Ce alloy fabricated by bidirectional forging exhibits variable mechanical properties from the edge to the center due to gradient microstructure. The optimized proportion of bimodal grains with low-density dislocation was developed in the center position as a result of higher cumulative strain and temperature, contributing to higher tensile strength and elongation compared with other positions.
