Abstract

Switch mode power supply (SMPS) is good selection for power supplies of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), which is one of the most important interference sources of UAV. The power switches with their high dv/dt and di/dt switching slopes are the sources of electromagnetic interference (EMI). In this paper, a variable frequency modulation technology of the forward converter of UAV is presented, which is utilized in SMPS to improve electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). In variable-frequency techniques, power (signal) is transmitted in power converter in wide-band mode in several frequencies that are constantly changing, the EMI spectral performance of the SMPS can be controlled with the modulating pattern and modulation method. The validity of the models and analyses are confirmed experimentally by using a dc/dc forward converter.
