Abstract

Abstract The design and analysis of experiments should take into account all of the major sources of variability that are expected to influence the responses. In this article a description is given of types of commonly used experimental plans that do not permit useful inferences to be made from the effects of treatment comparisons because they do not allow for the estimation of all major sources of variability that affect the treatment comparisons.
