Abstract

The data of the largest ice extent of the Baltic Sea from 1720 to 1979 was subjected to spectral analysis. The significance of the possible periods was studied by dividing the time series into three equally long parts. The most distinct cycles found were 3.5, 5.2, 8 and 13 years.
