Abstract

Measurements of ultraviolet solar spectral irradiance from ground‐based observations made at Reykjavik (64°N) and Thessaloniki (40°N) are used to calculate erythemally‐weighted UV‐B dose during EASOE. It is shown that the largest values of UV‐B dose observed were about double those expected with an unperturbed ozone amount under cloudy conditions. At middle latitudes UV‐B doses were within expectation throughout the period of the campaign.
