Abstract
The characteristics of flowering of CMS corn tassels are given. After a microscopic analysis of pollen grains and count of the kernel number on ears pollinated by a pollen mixture (of the tested yellow kernel and fertile white kernel lines), it is established that the pollen of semifertile plants is weakly viable and non-competitive. This allows referring plants of maternal forms with a flowering score of 1–2 to sterile.
