Abstract

This is a case of remarkable irregular astigmatism post-radial keratotomy (RK). In the patient’s right eye, four radial and two arcuate incisions were made to correct myopic astigmatism. In the left eye, four radial and four arcuate incisions were present. The reason for this peculiar surgical protocol was related to intraoperative error. The surgeon realized the error in the axis just after performing the two arcuate incisions and intended to fix the problem by performing two additional arcuate incisions on the correct axis.
