Abstract

The aster yellows infectivity of aster leafhopper, Macrosteles quadrilineatus Forbes, populations collected from carrot fields at several locations in Wisconsin was determined weekly during two growing seasons to determine the need for control measures. Aster yellows infectivity of the collected insects varied both spatially among local populations and temporally through the season at each location, and was different each year.
