AbstractMario Vargos Llosa (b. 1936) is a Peruvian writer, professor, journalist, essayist, satirist, and the recipient of the 2010 Nobel Prize in Literature. A key figure in the Latin American Boom, Vargos Llosa's work, while grounded in Peruvian history and politics, is also playful and postmodernist in style and design. His fiction and nonfiction work, such as forEl PaísandLetras Libres, continue to inspire many both in Latin America and throughout the world.
