Abstract

To the Editor: It was a great pleasure to hear that the dermatology department of the Vargas Hospital in Caracas, Venezuela, was approved for one year of training by the American Board of Dermatology. After having spent one year working in their department, I would like to express my endorsement and encourage North American residents to seriously consider a year there well spent. I finished my three years' training at the New York Skin and Cancer Unit and was given the opportunity to do clinical research and teach in their department. The experience was highly educational and stimulating. Their department is headed by Drs. Jacinto Convit and Francisco Kerdel-Vegas and the enthusiasm of the staff is infectious.
