Abstract

Vapour pressures for { xCH 3CN + (1− x)H 2O} were measured over the whole composition range at 308.15 K using the static method. The results were used to calculate the activity coefficients and the excess molar Gibbs free energies. Activity coefficients and excess molar Gibbs free energies were obtained for 278.15, 288.15, 298.15, and 318.15 K using excess partial molar enthalpies reported by Stokes.
