Abstract

The vapour—liquid equilibrium behaviour of the ethane—n-pentane—n-heptane system was investigated at 150, 200, 250, 300 and 350°F for pressures approaching the critical state. This experimental investigation utilized the static method approach for a total of twenty-one cell charges of this system. Co-existing equilibrium vapour and liquid samples were analysed with a gas chromatograph. The results of this study, covering the pressure range from 400 psia up to the critical pressure, are tabulated and are presented graphically. In addition, the equilibrium compositions for the vapour and liquid phases together with their corresponding K values for composition parameters of C = 0·200, 0·400, 0·600 and 0·800 are also tabulated.
