Abstract
VANETs offer data exchange capabilities at very high speed. Due to variations in the vehicle’s velocity, it is quite challenging to ensure the reliable communication. In a mobile environment, the network topology is frequently updated, thus causes packet loss at intermediate nodes, generate extra control overhead for routing as well as it may also lead to congestion/contention. It is necessary to manage the mobile environment, in order to ensure reliability and scalability. Researchers have developed various solutions for V2I and V2V but still, thee are some open issues related to communication over high-speed networks. In this paper, a Swarm Intelligence (SI) based routing for VANETs is proposed, called vAnt-ITS. Simulation results show its performance in terms of improved network efficiency.
