Abstract

1 / In the Summer of 1983 Vancouver left behind the idea of theatre as a winter activity. The tradition of September to April as the “season,” though maintained by the Playhouse, has finally gone. The citizens – and tourists – no longer spend their summers entirely on boats and beaches: they go to theatre too.
