Abstract

The issue of memory in the elderly is usually dealt with from a medical, neurological or neuropsychological perspective, or even from an educational or therapeutic one, depending on whether we want to prevent or treat age-related memory disorders. This is tantamount to forgetting that memory is the major function of the elderly in many societies, both past and present.
