Abstract

Organisations, public, private and voluntary are, worldwide, striving to increase performance through continuous improvement and efficiency drives. But what does this really achieve in practice? How can these organisations identify and manage the value that is achieved from continuous improvement activities each generating numerous Areas For Improvement (AFIs)? With more and more organisations assessing against Excellence Models the challenge is to truly integrate the AFIs that emerge with business planning and performance management. The authors provide a method and web based approach that brings AFIs to life within the organisation and enables consultants to work closely with the client to track and demonstrate value.
