Abstract

Objective To investigate the value of echocardiography in differential diagnosis of benign and malignant cardiac tumors. Methods The imaging data of chocardiography, postoperative pathological results, CT and clinical manifestations of 101 patients with cardiac tumors who were first diagnosed by echocardiography were retrospectively analyzed and compared. Results Among the 101 cases of cardiac tumors, there were 89 cases of benign cardiac tumors and 9 cases of malignant cardiac tumors diagnosed by echocardiography. In the benign cardiac tumors, the myxoma accounted 83% and non-myxoma benign cardiac tumor accounted 17%. In the 10 cases of malignant tumors, echocardiography made a correct prompt in 9 cases, the sensitivity of malignant tumor diagnosis was 90%. Conclusions Echocardiography in the diagnosis of intracardiac tumor has high specificity, which could preliminarily make differential diagnosis of benign and malignant cardiac tumor. It could be used to provide diagnostic evidence for clinicians. Key words: Echocardiography; Cardiac tumors; Diagnosis
