Abstract
Objective To evaluate the value of color doppler ultrasound on diagnosis of carotid atherosclerosis in patients with cerebral infarction. Methods One hundard patients with cerebral infarction were selected and grouped as cerebral infarction group from February 2010 to March 2012,and the 50 cases of carotid atherosclerosis plaque during the same period were selected and grouped as control group. The formation of carotid atherosclerosis plaque in both groups were analyzed. Results Compared with control group, the incrassation, arteriosclerosis and the plaque formation of carotid artery were higher in cerebral infarction group, there were significant differences (P < 0.05).The main types of plaque in cerebral infarction group were types 111,1W,accounting for 71.8% (28/39) ; and the main types of plaque in control group were types I,1I,accounting for 76.5% (13/19).The plaque formation of cerebral infarction group was 39 cases,in which 31 cases(79.5%)of unstable plaque and 8 cases(20.5%) of stable plaque, and the plaque formation of control group was 17 cases,in which 4 cases(23.5%) of unstable plaque and 13 cases (76.5 %) of stable palque, there were significant differences (P < 0.05).Conclusions The plaque formation and types of plaque in carotid atherosclerosis examined by color doppler ultrasound is useful for forecasting the occurrence of cerebral infarction.
