Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is to determine to use governorship web sites as functional sources in geography teaching and how geography content should be designed. The study is designed as a descriptive research. Document examining which is one of the qualitative research methods was used as research method. In this sense, it was examined 1- Teaching curricula of geography course, 2- Governorship web sites, 3- Research about urban geography, and 4- Text books of high school geography. Then, data were analyzed based on the research problem. According to results; 1- It was seen that governorship web sites as source of high school geography courses is inadequate. 2- It was put forward suggestions about content of governorship web sites, which can meet high school geography courses, as functional sources.
