Abstract

Due to the UG amendment and the accompanying validation of non-formal and informal competences, both, universities and university continuing education institutions, are facing quite a few challenges. A procedure must be developed that includes the identification, documentation, assessment and certification of learning outcomes that a person has acquired non-formally or informally. The validation system of the Austrian Academy of Continuing Education and examples from German universities serve as inspiration for the design of a validation process, which must be developed.
