The name Prunus 3incam Ingram ex R. Olsen & Whittemore is validated here. Introduced as a cultivated variety in 1947, Ingram's name Prunus 3incam has been in use as a nomen nudum in horticultural literature and the nursery trade for artificial crosses involving the parent taxa P. incisa Thunberg 3 P. campanulata Maximowicz.
