Abstract
Abstract : This study showed the validity of the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT) by comparing its composites with performance in non-rated technical training courses (TTCs). Pearson product-moment correlations were computed among the five AFOQT composite scores and the final school grade earned by 9,029 Air Force officers who attended 37 separate TTCs. The results revealed positive and significant correlations, especially in the initial courses. Regression analyses were then run to determine the optimal weighting of the existing composites that best predicted training success. Future research will analyze subtest data in order to form new composites for each TTC.
