Validation of daily increments in the otolith microstructure of Northeast Atlantic mackerel fish larvae

Abstract

The formation of daily growth increments in sagittal otoliths of Northeast Atlantic mackerel, Scomber scombrus, raised at temperature-controlled conditions is validated. The coupling of the number of increments: true age ratio resulted affected by the temperature-induced growth conditions.
