Abstract

The main topic of this paper is the validation of an isotropic three-axis magnetic field probe with concentric coils in CST Microwave Studio (CST MWS). First the basic theory of the field probe model will be explained. Then the probe model will be validated with calculations, simulations and measurements in a homogeneous magnetic field by using a Helmholtz coil. Furthermore the model will be validated in an inhomogeneous magnetic field from a simple wire structure by using calculations, simulations and measurements. Finally we compare the difference between the magnetic flux density in the middle of the probe with the average magnetic flux density of the total probe. The difference of this comparison will then matched with analytical calculated results done in the past.
