Abstract

Near visual acuity measurement is an important aspect of pediatric eye examinations. Reduced near acuity may affect prescribed lenses or treatments, and can represent impactful visual dysfunction. The purpose of this study is to evaluate binocular near acuity using five different child-friendly common optotypes, and to contrast results among the optotypes and their consistency with binocular distance VA.
