Abstract
The Contingency Model of Leadership has become the subject of a rich body of scientific literature. It has stimulated many researches, involving testing as well as criticizing. Validation, carried out on a Polish plan, made better understanding of management processes in our circumstances. Stationary and postgraduate students of the organization and management line, managers and their subordinates in companies of agriculture, transport and motorization services, attendants of workshops, sailing voyages, and sailing trainings were all subjected to the studies. The persons examined were men aged 20 to 55. The plan of researches covered 985 persons. The experimental methods, management training courses, tests, psychological reviews, computer printouts, television cameras, and monitors were applied. Statistic analysis was drawn with the level dime-named test and Spearman's test. It was stated at the level of p > 0.05 that it would be possible, under some stipulations, to operate with The Contingency Model under Polish conditions. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
