Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory Systems, 12: 57–67. In this article we propose a strategy for the validation and improvement of expert systems in analytical chemistry. An application of this approach in two-dimensional NMR spectrum interpretation is shown, and the results indicate that significant performance improvements can he achieved in this domain.
