Abstract

Background and Aim: Improvements of laboratory efficiency and standardisation during oocyte vitrification are important for routine IVF. Application of physiological temperature (37°C) during vitrification prevents spindle depolymerisation and results in significantly faster vitrification cycles. Using straightforward methods, with minimal handling steps and by avoiding mixing of solutions, contributes to standardisation of procedures. This study aimed to evaluate if a sealed carrier device, in combination with a fast and standardised vitrification protocol at physiological temperature, can be successfully used for human oocyte vitrification.
