Abstract

Quinapril hydrochloride and hydrochlorothiazide were simultaneously determined by HPTLC in pharmaceutical formulations. The drugs were separated on silica gel 60 F254 plates using suitable combination of solvents as mobile phase. The validation parameters, tested in accordance with the requirements of ICH guidelines, prove the suitability of methods.

Summary

Introduction

Quinapril hydrochloride and hydrochlorothiazide were simultaneously determined by HPTLC in pharmaceutical formulations. Different HPLC methods have been reported for the analysis of quinapril and its active metabolites[4,5]. Different analytical methods using HPTLC12, HPLC13-18 and spectrophotometry[19,20] have been reported for hydrochlorothiazide. There is no method reported for simultaneous estimation of quinapril hydrochloride and hydrochlorothiazide using HPTLC or HPLC.
