Abstract
Energy saving is a major issue for trains, especially since high velocity trains have been developed. One of the major parameters in mastering energy consumption in trains is directly related to the aerodynamics both in open environment and in special locations where the surroundings of the trains are restricted. The paper presents an advanced computational method for analyzing aerodynamics effects around trains in any environment. Several industrial application examples are described.
