Abstract
Valerie A. Canady, the publishing editor of Mental Health Weekly has received the “Truth in Media Award” from the New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies (NJAMHAA). According to NJAMHAA, the award is in appreciation of Canady's “comprehensive reporting of issues affecting access to mental health care services and her focus on eliminating stigma.” The Truth in Media Award will be presented April 25 during NJAMHAA's spring conference, “Transcending Today, Transforming Tomorrow.” Canady regards this award as one of her career highlights over 20 years covering the field. She considers NJAMHAA as one of her key sources in reporting on local and national mental health issues.
