Abstract
Results are presented for the valence control of Fe and Co ions in magnetic garnets for Ca- or Ge-substituted YIG. The measurement of spectral dependence of Faraday rotation was found to be a very sensitive method for observation of the valence state of Co and Fe ions in garnet films. It is observed that the values of the distribution coefficients for uncompensated Ca or Ge are three times lower than those obtained in the compensated state (simultaneous Ca and Ge substitution).< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
