Abstract
Val De La Mare dam is a mass concrete dam 193 m long × 24·3 m high and has suffered from alkali silica reaction for over 50 years. A project was completed in November 2011, to install 3200 m2 of a specialist geomembrane lining to the upstream face by Carpi Tech of Switzerland. This paper describes how the rehabilitation of the dam was carried out.
