Abstract

In this article the revelation, as a basic religious concept, will be examined analytically in terms of philosophy, Christian theology and Islamic Kalaam. To be able to do this, first the nature of revelation will be focused on, then the usage of the concept will be analyzed in the perspectives of religious and philosophical texts, and then religious and philosophical implications of the propositional, personal and emanational understandings of revelation will be indicated. Finally, the question of possibility and justifiability will be investigated in terms of both Islamic and Western thought.
