Abstract

(Abstracted from Female Pelvic Med Reconstr Surg 2018;24:419–423) Specific types of pelvic organ prolapse (POP) are classified according to the herniating vaginal compartment: anterior (cystocele), posterior (rectocele), and apical (uterine or vault prolapse). Seventy-five percent of women with POP have a rectocele.
