Abstract
American Society for Testing and Materials Section D18.21.02 is developing a vadose zone soil gas monitoring performance guide (Eos, Oct. 25, p. 978). This performance guide, an ASTM standard, will pertain to the existing methods of soil gas collection, sample handling, sample analysis, QA‐QC, data reporting, and compositional data analysis.Lome Everett, Section Chairman, and William Ullom, Task Chairman, are seeking participation in this effort by users and suppliers of vadose zone soil gas monitoring methods. As a starting point, a performance guide draft outline development questionnaire has been submitted to ASTM for distribution to practitioners of vadose zone soil gas monitoring.
