Abstract

A method has been developed for the preparation of uranium converters for use in high resolution gamma spectroscopy. Vacuum deposition was found to be preferable because homogenious films can be obtained on organic backing materials. The present method enables metallic uranium converters to be produced with a thickness up to 2 mg/cm 2.
