Abstract

Abstract Performance of a new type of vacuum deaerators with capacities from 5 to 1200 tons/h (~2.65 × 106 lb/h) is described, and the results of field test of this apparatus are provided. The deaerators are capable of reducing the noncondensibles in the water to a very low value sufficient to prevent internal corrosion processes and increase the economical effectiveness of heat and power plants. Different applications of vacuum deaerators in power and industrial plants are discussed, and design criteria are presented.
