Abstract

The Advisory Committee on Immunization of the Spanish Association of Pediatrics updates yearly recommendations before the onset of seasonal flu season, about vaccination against this infection in pediatric age. The Committee considers that influenza vaccination should be applied in the following cases:.1. Risk groups: children aged 6 months of age and healthy adolescents with conditions that increase the risk of complications and mortality.2. Healthy children from 6 months and adolescents living with patients at risk.3. Adults in contact with children and adolescents included in risk groups. Family vaccination is especially important when there are infants under six months of age with risk factors, since these babies cannot receive the influenza vaccine. The recommendation for influenza vaccination is emphasized for medical personnel working with children.
