Abstract

The vacancy formation energy φ and the vacancy formation entropy s in bcc 3He crystals at high molar volumes between 24.356 and 24.922 cm3/mole were obtained from the temperature dependence of pressure. The value of φ decreased between 4.84 K and 2.17 K while the value of s changed between -1.07 k and -4.32 k with increasing molar volume. These resutls were compared with other experiments.
