Abstract

The photometric activity of the star V695 Per in the young cluster IC 348 is studied using multi-year photometric observations. In terms of its photometric properties, this star is shown to be a twin of the well known T Tauri star AA Tau which is subject to periodic eclipses by its own gas-dust disk. It is suggested that, as in the case of AA Tau, the inner region of the circumstellar disk of V695 Per is deformed as a result of its interaction with a magnetic dipole whose axis is inclined to the star’s axis of rotation. This interpretation assumes that the line of sight lies nearly in the plane of the disk.
