Abstract

Indexing spatial data is of great importance in terms of accessibility and query performance to this data. In this study, query performances between indexed and non-indexed tables and bulk loading times of different sizes of data into index structures were measured by performing some query experiments on a spatial database created on the Turkey map. In this way, it is aimed to emphasize the importance of choosing the right index type and using indexes on spatial data.
